Simplir ideas for a complex World

Power and Mechanical

Step one for 99.999% uptime. Filter and store the power.

Telco style, NOC grade, power systems. Power done smaller and smarter.

Traditionally, computers operate on 120 or 240 volts AC. The conversion from DC to AC and back is the greatest loss in efficiency in this type of system. Take a look at the number of power conversions that happen when using a standard UPS.

120 VAC --> 12 VDC --> battery -->120 VAC -->system DC

In a telephone switching NOC you will find most power systems running on 48 volt DC. Notice the simplicity and efficiency (energy savings) with this method.

120 VAC --> 48 VDC --> battery --> system DC

All Simplir rectifiers are hot-swappable and have MTBFs greater than 250,000 hours. Choose at least 30% extra rectifier capacity above your load. This allows for recovery from power outage.

Power CORE batteries provide more than 100% more uptime per dollar when compared to leading computer UPSs. In the USA and many other places in the world, power rarely, if ever, goes out for more than a couple of hours. A battery bank sized for six hours of operation can be a cost effective alternative to a backup generator. These same sealed, long life, Absorbed Glass Mat cells fly in the F-117A stealth fighter.

In addition to conditioning grid power, Simplir Power CORE can generate it's own power on-site.

Simplir has both combustible fuel and renewable energy generation options available.

Turnkey Factory Configuration

Simplir will install and configure a half size or full size rack system for plug in and go operation for indoor or outdoor deployment.. A common system might include...

  • an enclosed, half-height rack
  • a Power CORE PC5 with two battery modules
  • a Blade CORE with various blades including Control Server Blade with the Alarm Package
  • Telemetry modules interfacing the PC5 and the Alarm Package
  • an AC power module to provide conditioned power to office computers.
PC3

A three Module Frame holds hot swap rectifiers in N, N+1 and N+2 configurations. Converts 120 Volts AC into pure 24 or 48 Volt DC. Provides rectifier alarm signals to Network Sensor Gateways. Rectifiers provide 150 watts of conversion each, for a maximum of 450 watts total, or a redundant maximum of 300 watts. Choose one or more Battery Modules for 24V or two or more in pairs for 48V systems.

Choose
  • A frame
  • Rectifiers
  • Battery Modules

Options

  • Inverter Frame
  • Inverter Modules
  • DC Distribution Panel
  • AC Distribution Panel
  • DC Backup Cooling Fan
PC9

A fully scalable high density system for large data centers and industrial facilities. In other words, it takes more than a few Blade COREs before you need this.

Choose

  • A Rack (open frame or enclosed)
  • A Rectifier Frame
  • Number of Rectifiers
  • Battery Modules

Options

  • Inverter Frame
  • Inverter Modules
  • DC Distribution Panel
  • AC Distribution Panel
  • DC Backup Cooling Fan

A four Module Frame holds hot swap rectifiers in N, N+1 and N+2 configurations. Converts 120 Volts AC into pure 24 or 48 Volt DC. Provides rectifier alarm signals to Network Sensor Gateways. Daisy chain multiple frames together for increased capacity. Systems are available in configurations up to 60 kW three phase and larger. Rectifiers provide 2400 watts of conversion each, for a maximum of 9600 watts total, or a redundant maximum of 7200 watts. Choose one or more Battery Modules for 24V or two or more in pairs for 48V systems.

Local Generation

Simplir provides a complete line of local power generators.

The world's first poly-renewable input UPS system

Fossil fuel generators work well for occasional supplementation of battery storage during prolonged power outages.

For sites without grid power, renewables are the most cost effective. A Simplir Engineer can recommend a configuration for your application.

Choose

  • Generator (propane, natural gas, or diesel)
  • Photovoltaic (solar electric)
  • Wind
  • Hydro (water electric)

Racks

Heavy Duty 19" equipment racks. Racks save space and protect equipment. The racks roll for easy installation.

All sides and doors are removable for easy access.

Outdoor racks are excellent for protecting equipment at remote tower sites, eliminating the need for expensive buildings. Simply bolt to a concrete slab.

Use a Rack Top Air Conditioner when grid power is present in hot climates. Use a Rack Top Fan Tray, with renewable power generation and/or in cooler climates.
